The Department of Computer Science was started 3 years MCA Course in the year 2008 with a sanctioned intake of 40 students. The Students are being admitted into this course through ICET counseling. The objective of introducing this course is to transform the non-technical graduates into technical graduates to cater to the needs of the IT sector.
The Department has been established to impart instruction with latest curriculum for the students of MCA programme since 2008. This programme includes curriculum updated from time to time with strong technical concepts coupled with hands-on experience of real time industrial applications to keep the students on par with the ever-evolving software world.
The Department has well established Computer Lab equipped with P-IV high configured Computer Systems and Servers (Windows) with Internet Facility to meet the needs of regular curriculum. The Faculty, Research Scholars and Students are continuously using the Internet and Laboratory for their Academics, Research and Major & Minor Application Projects.
The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty in the areas of Speech Processing, Image Processing, Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, Data mining etc.
The Department is continuously drawing inspiration from its alumni to understand the technical trends and real world developments towards excellence.
The Department started Ph.D. (FT & PT) programme in Computer Science from 2010 onwards. The Ph.D. programme is entirely in conformity with the latest UGC guidelines as contained in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) regulations 2009 and admissions were made by conducting an Entrance Test (VSU – RECET: Research Common Entrance Test) and counseling / viva-voce. Facilities for research are offered in the department on various topics leading to Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science.
